Commemorate, Engage, Advance: The March for Civil Rights Continues

"Commemorate, Engage, Advance: The March for Civil Rights Continues” is an exhibit based around the history of the Civil Rights Movement leading up to the final Brown v. Board of Education ruling to the passage of the Civil Rights Act. The exhibit features a timeline of events from the 1896 Plessy vs. Ferguson Ruling to the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Library and University Archives materials represent how the Civil Rights Movement directly impacted MSU’s campus and wider community, highlighting the 1978 MSU Women’s Basketball team lawsuit against the university and the 1989 student sit in at the Hannah Administration Building.

Exhibit on 3 West from January 15 to March 25, 2014.
