Foamboard Printing
About
Foamboard printing is a process where a printed image or design is mounted onto a lightweight yet rigid foamboard, resulting in a durable and visually striking display. Commonly used for signage, presentations, and art displays, foam boards feature a polystyrene core encased between layers of paper or plastic for added strength and stability.
At the Print and Production Center, we offer high-speed foam board printing—available to all Spartan students and staff! Whether you're preparing for a presentation or showcasing your creative work, our equipment is ready to bring your projects to life.

Print your Poster
Please let the staff at the Print and Production Center know that you would like to print a foamboard print. They will hand you a USB drive to upload your poster, which is prepared using the directions above. They will finish processing your poster and print it for you!
If you require your poster to be cut to specific dimensions, we have a foam board machine that will assist you in cutting your foamboard print to size.
Foam Core
Foam core, also known as foam board, is a lightweight, rigid material consisting of a foam center sandwiched between two outer layers, typically paper. It's widely used for mounting posters, creating models, and making displays due to its rigidity, light weight, and ease of cutting and shaping.
Corrugated Cardboard
Corrugated cardboard is a material made up of a fluted or wavy inner layer sandwiched between flat outer layers, called linerboards. This structure provides strength and cushioning, making it ideal for packaging and shipping. It's commonly used for boxes, displays, and other protective applications.
What is the difference between Foam Core and Corrugated Cardboard?
| Factor | Foam Core | Corrugated Cardboard |
|---|---|---|
Durability | Highly durable; resists bending and handles rough use well. | Less durable; prone to bending and creasing over time. |
Weight | Lightweight and easy to transport. | Heavier, which can make handling and transport more difficult. |
Surface Quality | Smooth surface—ideal for high-quality printing, drawing, and graphic applications. | Rougher texture, which may affect the clarity and quality of images or writing. |
Appearance | Clean, sleek, and professional in appearance. | More basic and utilitarian; less refined look. |
