We are excited to announce that we are moving to a new catalog from June 27th through the 30th. As we make this transition, some services will be affected.

You will still be able to check out books or other library material in person at the library.
Requests for pick up at circulation desks will be unavailable during this time.
You will have to request materials from other libraries using Get It @ MSU. Note: Borrowing from other Michigan Libraries through MelCat continues to be suspended until further notice.

Course Pack Information for Students

Your professor can choose to offer students a print or electronic course pack. Electronic course packs may be printed for your personal use at your expense. If your course offers a course pack, please refer to your syllabus for more information about the format and availability of your pack.

Print Bookstore Course Packs

Currently, most course packs we offer are print-only and can be picked up at either the Spartan Bookstore: Opens in a New Tab or Student Book Store. If you are unsure which store is providing your pack, please check with your professor or contact the Course Materials Program.

Electronic Course Packs

Accessing Your Electronic Course Pack

If your course offers an electronic course pack, instructions for purchase can be found within your D2L course.

Once you have purchased access to the electronic course pack, follow the specific instructions in your confirmation email. Please note that the electronic course pack does not unlock within your main D2L course.

To access and download your purchased electronic course pack, log into D2L and navigate to the Homepage. If a course with the words "electronic course pack" is not in your most recent courses, search for it using your course code. Your e-pack file(s) will be available under the Content tab.

Tips for Using Your Electronic Course Pack

Download the PDF- Take it with you wherever you go without depending on an internet connection.
Print your PDF- You may print a copy of your electronic course pack for personal use. Printing is available at the MSU Main Library MakeCentral for0.05 per page.
D2L Browser- When viewing your PDF in the D2L browser, click the square in the top left corner to reveal bookmarks for easy navigation. Also, try right clicking on links to open them in a new browser.
Note Taking Software- Download your PDF to take advantage of virtual note taking software like Notability and Evernote. For more information, check out the MSU Libraries's Virtual Note Taking LibGuide!

Accessibility

For students with print-related disabilities who need access to a plain text version of the course pack, just let us know! We can usually turn around a proof-read Microsoft Word version of the readings within a few days. You can contact us directly or work with your professor or RCPD to make the request.

Course Materials Program Refund Policy

All sales are final for print packs purchased from Spartan Bookstore and Collegeville Textbook Company, as well as Print-on-Demand packs from the Library MakeCentral; CMP nor the Bookstore staff are authorized to process a refund once the pack has been bought.

All sales are final for electronic course pack access: once the D2L space containing the electronic course pack has been made available to you, which occurs immediately upon purchase, we cannot process a refund.
