Octopus Limited ed. of 100 copies. Letterpress printed on Magnani Pescia & Crescent papers in Cochin bold italic. Designed and engineered by Elizabeth McDevitt and Julie Chen ... The boxes were made by Sandy Tilcock --Colophon. Tunnel book with poem accumulating on every other leaf. When compressed the entire poem is readable. Poem in total on leaf [13]. Issued in drop-spine box. Colophon inside the box is printed in the shape of an octopus. The concertinas of the tunnel structure are printed to resemble fish net. Each leaf of the book has overall printed pattern. Leaves [11-13] have printed paper collage of an octopus's tentacle. End boards are cloth covered.

The veil In box (33 x 22 cm.). 'The Veil' was written and designed by Julie Chen in the fall of 2002. It was letterpress printed using a combination of photopolymer plates and collagraphic blocks on Wyndstone Marble papers, and cut using a Universal Systems Lasercutter. The binding was done by Julie Chen and Anna Sacramento at the studios of Flying Fish Press ... --Box lining paper. Produced in an edition of 100 copies, signed & numbered by the artist. This book can be displayed as a standing sculpture by curving the concertina into a circle, with all the pages facing outward, until the front and back covers touch. Magnets embedded in the covers will hold the book open in this position --Colophon. MSU copy: Number 34 in an edition of 100 copies.
