A list, compiled by the American Battle Monuments Commission, of World War II American military buried at the Henri-Chapelle American Military Cemetery and Memorial, Belgium; includes names, plot location, rank, unit, date of death, serial number and decorations, plan and photographs of cemetery . Photographs are of an installation on the golf course at Château de la Tournette, Nivelles, Belgium, Sept. 2010. CD-R disc is blank and unformatted, with the English, Flemish and French titles handwritten in a spiral; in DVD container with printed titles inserted. In container, bound in green cloth, with green and gold cloth edges; att. is a white cloth bound box with a green and gold flag, seen in the photographs of the installation at Château de la Tournette; it is covered with a clear plastic sheet, riveted to the box, with the title in English, Flemish and French. Interior of container has depression, lined with plastic wool for holding CD-R box. Container closed with black elastic strip riveted to top and bottom of container; tied with brown cord. The copies in this 2nd edition are unnumbered. Text and illustrations printed in black on off-white art paper. The three-dimensional cover, [a kind of mask] cast from recycled cardboard, corn silk, and coffee, represents the Mayan earth goddess Kaxail. Her eyes open onto handmade endpaper[s] blackened by soot and studded with palm fronds ... the product of a 20-year effort to compile a kind of modern Mayan codex ... contains dozens of silk-screen illustrations based on ancient Mayan folk-art patterns but painted by contemporary women -- Publisher's website. Handmade accordion-style book, with high-relief carving of a lizard. Front and back covers appear to be carved from bone, while pages are plant fiber or very thin sheets of wood. The pages contain drawings, and text in an unidentified or imaginary script. Back cover is marked Made in Indonesia. Purchased in a gift shop in Charleston, South Carolina, in 1998. Previously unpublished poem. Handmade books published by Ediciones Vigía under the auspices of the Cuban Ministry of Culture. Poem in manuscript reproduced on single leaf of coarse brown paper, with ragged edges, folded to 25 x 9 cm (opens to 25 x 25 cm). Poem is preceded by two illustrated leaves, the second incorporating a piece of wood with evidence of termite activity. Heavy cardstock wrappers are trimmed to the shape of an upright section of tree trunk or log, illustrated to depict rough texture of bark and exposed cross-section at top, and bound to leaves of text and illustrations by three pieces of heavy brown yarn threaded through three holes at left margin and tied. On right side, front and back wrappers are trimmed to depict two small protruding branches that have been cut; from upper one is tied a length of light-weight brown yarn to which is tied a small wooden tag bearing the copy number.
