It also highlights the importance of our need to be more attentive tothe preservation of our coexistence with other life forms on Earth. In Making Medicine, Rodriguez's signature becomes the book's imagery. This idea aligns conceptually with the message of the interrelatedness of nature and the fragile balance of our ecosystem... Eugenie Torgerson is a book artist, photographer, printer, and illustrator from Michigan. Map Room Box and Journals is a lidded box containing 5 handbound journals. The sides of the box and the journals contain digitally-manipulated landscape photos with maps superimposed. The artist states: I draw simple places and ordinary experiences of light and weather. I am interested in the energy of air and the weight of the land, paying particular attention to the places where they meet. The locations are derived from memory, shaped by invention, and the drawings are pages of a universal geography. |
