On March 16, Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed an Executive Order temporarily closing many public spaces. All academic libraries are included in this order. The MSU Libraries are closed, but we still offer virtual services and many resources do remain available. Please see our Online and Distance Learning resource page for specific Library resources. Reference services are still available via chat and phone. We do have temporary policies for returning/renewing material.

MSU Libraries Novel Coronavirus Response

As you know by now, MSU has taken steps to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The goal is to protect the most vulnerable among us by reducing the number of people available to spread the virus.

On March 16, Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed an Executive Order temporarily closing many public spaces. All academic libraries are included in this order. The MSU Libraries are closed, but we still offer virtual services.

Reference services are still available via chat and phone.

Temporary policies for returning and renewing materials:

  • No late fees will be assessed on overdue ILLiad and MelCat materials.
  • Renewals of MSU library books can be done online with no limits.
  • Media (CD, DVD, Blu-ray) materials that are due do not have to be returned for 4 weeks.
