The Digital Scholarship Lab (DSL) is excited to announce a VR headset loan program that allows MSU staff, students, and affiliates to borrow Oculus headsets. We’ve aimed our loan program to promote the exploration and adoption of XR technologies in a variety of contexts. Often, the first step in virtual spaces is through play. Our goal is to support many ways that technologies can be incorporated into teaching and research. Whether it is for academics or exploration, we encourage the MSU community to engage with these tools to experience the capabilities of virtual reality.

Our 8 Oculus Quest 2s headsets are managed with ArborXR and do not require the creation of Meta accounts or phone pairing. Each headset comes preloaded with accounts to a diverse selection of apps, ranging from immersive games like Beat Saber to educational programs like Ribbiting Discoveries
