Though MSU Libraries remain closed to the public due to COVID-19, we are preparing to welcome students this fall, and we are working on changes inside our Library to welcome people safely. Our goal is to reopen to the public August 24. Until then (and after), we will continue to offer virtual services. Many resources remain available. Please see our Online and Distance Learning resource page for specific Library resources. Reference services are still available via chat and phone. We do have temporary policies for returning/renewing material.

Grants & Funding Opportunities
Use the resources listed below when looking for current or past grants in your research areas:
- NIH RePORTER: find grants awarded by the National Institute of Health by researcher and organization, keywords, or project details.
- MSU Scholars: an MSU instance of SciVal experts to link researchers and promote collaboration, find experts, and locate funding opportunities at Michigan State University.
- SciVal Funding: An Elsevier product that searches grants and awards in the sciences from the United States, Canada, the UK, Europe, and Asia.
MSU Libraries provides limited financial support for authors:
BMJ Case Reports. MSU has an institutional fellowship with this journal, allowing MSU faculty, residents, and students to publish for no charge. To qualify, please contact librarian Iris Kovar-Gough for MSU's BMJ Fellowship Code. Please note that there is an additional fee not covered by the Libraries should authors wish to publish open access in this journal.
Before you publish you may want to consider the Journal Impact Factor of the publications you submit to. Journals with a stronger impact factor may offer a broader audience and more opportunities to be cited. We have a guide to research metrics that includes how to find the JIF and other metrics.
