Celebrating 50 Years of the Noer Collection: 1968-2018
Now through December 31, 2018
Main Library, 3rd Floor, West Wing
2018 is a special year the MSU Libraries as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the O. J. Noer Memorial Turfgrass Collection! Established in 1968, the collection has grown by leaps and bounds over the years, thanks in part to gracious donations of material from all around the globe. Today, the Noer Collection, together with the James B. Beard Turfgrass Library Collection, constitute the finest publicly available collection of turf-related material anywhere in the world.
This exhibit showcases the long history of turf at MSU, beginning with the work of W. J. Beal in the late 1800s. It documents the life of O. J. Noer, the arrival and growth of the Noer Collection over the last 50 years, and the future of the Turfgrass Information Center's digital initiatives.
