The full title on the cover of the pamphlet is How To Get The Most Out Of The Food You Buy Prepared By General Electric In The Interest Of The National Nutrition Program. The back cover is tan with brown and white print. It has a title in a brown box "How Your Food Money Should Be Divided" and a pie graph with five sections to accompany it. Inside the front cover is a Patriotic Call To Home Makers with quotes from 5 individuals: Claude R. Wickard, Secretary of Agriculture, Dr. Louise Stanley, Chief, U.S. Bureau of Home Economics, Dr. Helen S. Mitchell, Director of Nutrition Federal Security Agency, Dr. M.L. Inside the back cover are a list of "Foods For The Lunch Box". The inside features the "The Five Star Plan" which is a simplified approach to meal planning which divides weekly food money into five parts based on the five food groups, a table with the five food groups and specific foods, 5 Star Weekly Market List, 5 Star Weekly Menu Guide, How the Five Star Plan Assures Balanced Diets which discusses food materials that are needed for body structure, information about the impact of food storage and cooking on vitamins, Guide for Purchasing, Storage and Cooking of Fresh Vegetables with a chart listing vegetables, Guide for Buying, and Cooking Meats, Meat Storage in the Home with time and temperature charts for roasting meat and for broiling meat. There is a newspaper clipping inside the piece entitled More Care Needed in Vegetable Cookery with a chart of Suggested Use of Food Ration Points. There are no page numbers.
