Description
The front cover reads, "It contains besides cooking, receipts, pages for Invalids (26), painting (29), weights and measures (30) antidotes for poison (32) - a calendar (32) - and many facts worth knowing. New Every Year." The center of the cover has a small beehive. Victorian decorations are in each corner. The title and illustrations are framed by two thin black lines. Orange-brown stock. The back is a promo for Dr. Ransom, Son, and Co.'s Standard Family Medicines. Hive Syrup and Tolu, Magnetic Balm, Dermador, King of the Blood, and Magnetic Ointment. "Sold by Palace Drug Store, Abilene, Kansas. C. C. Shaler, Pharmacist." Index for receipts from 1888 to 1890 is on the back end page.
