The front cover is a yellow die-cut box of Arm and Hammer. The back cover is the back of the box and reads, "To the housekeeper: do you use Arm and Hammer Soda? If not, why not?" Inside are drawings of a black woman giving her child a bath while a cat sits on the shelf above with a box of Arm and Hammer. Below the drawings read, "'Now, 'Zekial, chile, stan' right in dar, / I'll wash you clean an' curl yo' har, / But I tell you child 'f you don' take care, / Yo'll feel yo' mammy's hand. / My sakes alive, what noise was dat / Git down from dar, you durned ole cat, / Oh! Lord! She clean done gone upsat, / Dat Arm and Hammer Brand.'"
