Description
The white cover has the title at the top in black with the Mirro-Matic logo outlined in gold. Below is a gold block with four scallops at the top with "Recipes, Directions, Timetables" in white with black bullets. The Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval is on the right with "Speed-Cooks Meals In Mere Minutes" at the bottom in black. The back cover has the framed Mirro-Matic Pressure Cooker Guarantee in black and white with the company name and address at the bottom. Below the Guarantee are seals for the Underwriters' Laboratory and Commended by Parents' Magazine. The front end page has a table of contents and instructions on replacement of the safety fuse. The back end page promotes the Mirro Manhattan Cookware, "Contemporary cookware that's name for where it's happening." The first two pages list Outstanding Features with illustrations: unbreakable pressure control for "cooking without looking," pressure canning, extra-capacity, scientific gasket, simple to open and close, automatic safety fuse, heatproof plastic handles, specially hardened, extra durable aluminum alloy and reversible, all-aluminum cooking rack. There is information on cleaning the Mirro-Matic, "Important!" warnings, six illustrated steps to cooking with the Mirro-Matic, 11 "Important Don'ts" and an illustrated list of replacement parts. There are tables for cooking various foods: Fresh Vegetables, Dried Vegetables, Dried Fruits, Cereals, Meats and Fowl, Soups and Chowders, Pasta and Rice, Fish and Sea Food, Frozen Vegetables and Fresh Fruit amid the recipes. There is a section on instructions for pressure canning with time tables and instructions for Terminal Sterilization for baby formula, nipples, bottles and caps. The last page has illustrations and a list of Mirro cookware with DuPont Teflon.
