Description
The front cover begins at the top with the title 'The New York Almanac 1888 16th Year" written in black, white, and yellow lettering against various backgrounds of black, yellow, orange, and blue. At the bottom, there is a drawn color illustration of seven naked children playing instruments or carrying garland, a jug, or a goose. The children are on a cloud being led by a naked child carrying a torch. The back cover contains information about four topics including Soiled Coat Collars, Castoria, Wei De Meyer's Catarrh Cure, and The Fabled Centaurs. At the bottom, the phrase "Compliments of Davis A. baker, Warrenville, Conn." is written in black lettering. The front end page is titled "Where Does it Go" and continues with an informational paragraph explaining the Castoria product and its uses. The rest of the inside pages are dedicated to calendar pages and various informational pages entailing testimonials and facts. Each calendar page is made up of a different month for the year 1888. Some of the topics discussed on the informational pages includes infant mortality, mothers do you know, mother's milk, symptoms of Catarrh, and what Wei De Meyer discovered. Page thirty two is written in German and the back end page is written in Dutch. Both are informational pages for the Castoria product.
