Description
The front cover features a drawn colored illustration of a rosy cheeked young woman wearing a red and white check cap. She is leaning on a fence and holding wheat in her right hand and in her mouth. The title "Rumford Receipt Book 1909" is written at the top of the illustration in blue and gold lettering. The back cover begins at the top with the word "Rumford" and continues with white calendar pages to the left and right of a Rumford Baking Powder can. At the bottom, the phrase "The Wholesome Baking Powder" is stated in blue lettering. The front end page contains a promotion for Rumford Baking Powder along with a note by the author Lily Haxworth Wallace. The inside pages are dedicated to various recipes that utilize Rumford Baking Powder in them. All recipes are written in maroon lettering and entail a list of the ingredients needed plus directions on how to prepare the dish.
