The front of the brown wrap-around cover shows a little girl feeling a little boy's arm muscle. The title below is in green and white print. The back cover reads, "Irradiated Carnation Milk, 'From Contented Cows'" in white print in a thin green ribbon frame. The front end page has a seal from the Council on Foods of the American Medical Association in black and white on a green background. The last page and back end page has the index. The first page has a which explains why and how this pamphlet was prepared. "Drink and eat...and Be Merry -- The Good Carnation Way!" tells the benefits of children continuing to drink Carnation Milk after the bottle and using Carnation Milk in recipes for children. Chapters, with menu suggestions, are for age 1 year ("Bottle days are over!"), ages 2 and 3 ("Toddlers on the march!"), ages 4, 5, and 6 ("A man-sized diet for a man-sized boy!"), ages 7 to 13 ("For the rip-roaring hungry school days") and age from 13 on ("So big...but they don't outgrow milk"). There are milk-rich recipes for beverages, breads, cakes, cookies and icings, candy, cereals, desserts, eggs and cheese, meats, fish and poultry, salads, salad dressings, sauces, soups and vegetables.
