Yuri holds a M.S. in Information Sciences with a focus on User Experience from the University of Tennessee, a M.S. in Game Design from Full Sail University, and a B.F.A. in Media Arts & Animation from Ai-TN. Their professional background includes roles at UCSC and UTC where they hosted workshops and provided consultations on multimedia and productivity applications. Yuri currently supports the MSU community at the Digital Scholarship Lab (DSL) through consultations, workshops and programs such as the Project Incubator and Graduate Arts Fellowship. Previously, Yuri served as a producer and QA analyst for game studios in Orlando, collaborating with Wargaming and the Veterans Health Administration. They have also worked as a UX researcher for Seikyu’s closed alpha and as an associate producer for the BAFTA-winning game “Before Your Eyes.” Yuri’s scholarly work includes mixed methods data collection and analysis for navigation applications, phenomenological studies of choice-based games and gender exploration, and the Pandemic Gaming Project, a digital archive documenting social and interactive events within the gaming community during the period of social distancing.
