Starting on Thursday, December 23, 2021, MeLCat Borrowing and Lending will be suspended while the MSU Libraries undergoes a significant software transition.
MSU students, staff, and faculty can continue to utilize interlibrary loan by placing requests through the MSU Libraries Interlibrary Services department. Community patrons will not be able to use MeLCat through the MSU Libraries during this time, but they can continue to do so using their local public library.
Since the library closed on March 16th, Maryam and Sarah McLeod have been coming into the library on a rotating basis keeping vital operations of the library going. They let essential staff into the building each morning. They are stewards of our physical collection, making sure materials are checked in and ready for shelving. They care about our users and have adapted Circulation operations to meet our students evolving needs. When the library closed, Maryam and Sarah started paging material for students living in the residence halls, checking it out to them, and meeting them at the entrance of the library for a safe hand-off. They are truly living by our strategic plan in demonstrating our core values.
