Marilee E. Thomas and Robert C. Thomas Science and Related Subjects Collection
Robert and Marilee, both graduates of MSU, donated important and significant writings in support of the MSU Libraries with The Robert C. Thomas and Marilee E. Thomas Science and Related Subjects Collection. Robert graduated from MSU in 1959 with a degree in Civil Engineering and Marilee graduated in the same year from the MSU Honors College with a degree in Home Economics. Personal contact with Andrew J. Galambos a decade or so following graduation stimulated a profound interest in the history and revolution taking place in science, leading up to and following Isaac Newton's publication of Principia in 1687. The scientific development and proliferation of intellectual property set in motion by Newton's Universal Law of Gravitation discovery produced immense progress, and benefits all mankind. These intellectual achievements are chronicled in the early writings of the great scholars and scientists that carried forward the Newtonian revolution. The accumulated volumes in the collection record the contributions of noteworthy intellectuals, pre and post Newtonian, responsible for the huge progress in science and accomplishments in related disciplines.
