The University Archives & Historical Collections (UAHC) initiates and participates in research projects that further knowledge in the the archives and records management professions.
MSU Libraries Visiting Scholars Program
These grants are intended to support scholars who live more than 100 miles from East Lansing and whose research would benefit from on-site access to the rich primary source collections housed in MSU Libraries' University Archives & Historical Collections and the Stephen O. Murray and Keelung Hong Special Collections. Visit the information page to learn about this program.
Digital Curation Planning Project
In collaboration with MSU Libraries and MATRIX: The Center for Digital Humanities & Social Sciences, UAHC engaged in the exploration and evaluation of digital content and curation practices at Michigan State to develop campus-wide digital curation guidelines. The project was active from 2009 to 2011.

Spartan Archive Project
In June 2014, UAHC completed an electronic records archive development project funded by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC).
