University Archives & Historical Collections (UAHC) welcomes all researchers to use its collections. UAHC is the most comprehensive source for information on the history and culture of Michigan State University.

Public access to the collections of the UAHC is provided at the Main Library Murray & Hong Special Collections and University Archives Reading Room, 366 W. Circle Dr., East Lansing, MI 48824, by appointment only. Appointments must be scheduled at least three (3) business days in advance: this reflects the time required to page and transport the materials. Appointment times are Monday through Friday, between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM ET. For assistance, please contact UAHC via email at archives@msu.edu or telephone at (517) 355-2330.

Visiting researchers are required to register for an account, which is only necessary the first time, and request materials. Upon your arrival at the Main Library Murray & Hong Special Collections and University Archives Reading Room, a valid photo identification card is required.

If you are looking for a place to stay while you are doing research at MSU refer to MSU's lodging page for a few options. UAHC does not provide any specific recommendations.

Michigan State University Libraries invites applications for Visiting Scholars Grants. The grants are intended to help scholars who live more than 100 miles from East Lansing whose research would benefit from on-site access to the rich primary source collections housed in MSU Libraries’ University Archives & Historical Collections and Stephen O.
