User Experience Unit

What we do

The MSU Libraries User Experience Unit (UX) supports a user-centric strategy in the leverage of the libraries' physical and digital spaces, services, and collections. It provides leadership, expertise, and collaboration in user research, data collection, and assessment activities to understand the needs and experiences of users.

Services & Goals of the Unit

  • Evaluate the MSU Libraries’ spaces, services, and collections, both physical and digital, and provide data-influenced recommendations for continual, user-centric improvement;
  • Manage and optimize signage and services in the physical spaces as assigned to User Experience;
  • Act as a data source to help library staff make data-informed decisions in their daily work, management, and strategic activities;
  • Collaborate with other units/divisions within the Libraries and campus partners on user experience and assessment projects;
  • Represent User Experience to other academic institutions, including but not limited to the MSU, Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA), and ARL communities
