Perhaps like many people, we tended to connect the Women's Suffrage Movement with images of early 20th-century parades and pickets. However, a chance encounter with a wonderful little book, Women of the Suffrage Movement by Janice E. Ruth & Evelyn Sinclair ..., reminded us of the pre-Civil War beginnings of the campaign and the remarkable women who supported it.
