Guides and Tutorials

MSU Libraries offer many guides and tutorials to aid you in your search for information. Check out the ones you believe will be the most helpful.

Course Guides

Course Guides: Opens in a New Tab provide information and links to resources that are especially useful for a particular course at MSU. You can search for guide by course title, department, or professor as well as from a list.

  • Use these when looking for help with a particular course's assignment.

Research Guides

Research Guides: Opens in a New Tab are tools created by MSU Librarians that provide lists of resources and search strategies for finding information on specific subjects. These lists are more extensive than the Getting Started Guides.

  • Use these for more complete coverage of a topic.

Research Basics Modules

Modules: Opens in a New Tab are short videos with quizzes that take you through the basics of starting a research project.

  • Use these modules while you're working on a research project to learn about the basics of searching, evaluating, and identifying different types of resources.
