The front cover is pink with black and white writing. The red logo for Church & Co's Soda is featured prominently in the center. At the bottom it says "Above is copy of face of package label." The back cover is the same except the logo says "Church and Co's Saleratus" with a blue background. The inside is a collection of recipes using baking soda, as well as a promotional text for baking soda, suggestions for use, and warnings against using baking powder. Recipes include: Buckwheat Cakes, Crullers, Suet Pudding and Ginger Bread. The inside front cover has a calendar for 1884-1885. The inside back cover has two charts. The first is the annual production of cereals in the U.S. from 1872 - 1881, by year and grain. The second is a state by state count of electorates in the Electoral College, in accordance with the Census of 1884.
