This is a group of twenty-one pamphlets. The front covers show black and white photographs of citizens and soldiers, and are in a variety of colors and black and white. Eighteen pamphlets are titled "Meal Planning Guide." Two are titled "Home Canning Guide" and one is titled "How to Pack Lunch Boxes for War Workers." The back covers are mostly white with war-related messages. The inside of each Meal Planning issue has "Point-Thrifty" menus and recipes that use rationed food items in an economic, appealing way. The Canning issues cover canning as well as quick freezing, dehydrating, brining, and winter storage in cellars, pits and boxes. The issues are dated as follows: Meal Planning Guide for June of 1942. Meal Planning Guides for January, March, April, May, June, July, August, November, December of 1943. How to Pack Lunch Boxes for War Workers, also 1943. Home Canning Guide for 1943 and Revised Edition for 1944. Meal Planning Guide for February, March, April, May, June, July, August of 1944. Year-Round Edition of 1944.
