This pamphlet is a guide to using the 1920's era KitchenAid mixer, pictured on the grey and red cover. "Smooth Sailing in the Kitchen" is printed at the bottom of the front cover. The pamphlet discusses the mixer and its attachments,and gives general instructions. The collection of recipes begins with all-purpose cooking techniques, such as using flour in a recipe. Recipes include mashed potatoes, waffles, caramel frosting, corn bread, and french chocolate ice cream. All recipes utilize the mixer, and mixing time, speed, and required attachments are listed in a chart form within each recipe. The 1919 Good Housekeeping Magazine Seal of Approval is printed on the back cover.
