- The cover is grey oilcloth. The front cover has green lettering. In the upper left corner is a punched hole for a string and a red frame with the title inside and vine hanging below. Compliments of ¼¼ R.W. Snyder ¼.Manufacturers of¼. Fine extracts .¼Battle Creek, Mich. is in the lower right corner. The back cover has Use R. W. Snyder's Superior Extracts with a small decorative triangle below it. The title page also contains text: The best is none too good and a poem "There's a maid and there's an art, To which the world is looking; The nearest art unto the heart- The good old art of cooking." The verso of the title page indicates that R.W. Snyder purchased the book from The Little-Preston Company-Ltd. Battle Creek, Michigan. The preface also has a poem. The inside pages include hints on marketing, dinner menu, setting the table, carving, and recipes for soups, fish, poultry, meats, vegetables, salads. breads, breakfast, tea, entrees, desserts, cakes, beverages, and jellies. There is also a section on things worth knowing, weights and measures, and utensils for miners or ranchmen.
