The front cover has two empty jars surrounds by vegetables and fruits. The border is a bold blue and the center is black. The lettering is light blue and green. The back cover is missing. The front end page has a typed letter to Home Makers from the company. The title page indicates it is edition R with pictures of fruits and vegetables. The full title is Ball Blue Book of Canning and Preserving Recipes. There is a poem:They shall rise up and call her blessed - this woman, who "loving and thoughtful of future joy and health" secures the goodness of Nature at her best, and cans against the barren sameness of the Winter months. Well does she look to the ways of her household. The book has instructions for canning fruits, juices, jellies, jams, vegetables, meat, poultry, and fish, soups, conserves, and preserves. There are sections on pickling, important rules for canning, and methods of canning. There are two pages advertising Ball Jars.
