The front cover is a color photograph of a T-bone steak, roll, peaches and strawberries. The Ball logo is in white lettering on a blue background at the top above Freezer Book in black letters. In the lower right corner is 35¢ in blue. The back cover is blue with the Ball logo in black on a light blue background in the middle. The first page has a welcome from the Consumer Products Division of Ball Corporation and a table of contents. Getting Started provides general information on freezing foods, the equipment needed and basic steps in freezing. There are recipes for Heritage Foods for New England, Deep South, Mid-America and Far West. Before each section of food type (fruits and berries, vegetables, meats, poultry, dairy products, fish and prepared foods) is general information on freezing methods and selecting products for freezing. At the end are tips on Thawing and Preparing foods for Serving, Care of Foods in Emergencies, Refreezing and Organic Gardening. There is an index followed by Frozen Food Facts. In the center of the pamphlet is a blue and white leaflet promoting Ball freezer bags and boxes. Included are a clear envelope in which the pamphlet was mailed and a mailing label from the Ball Corporation, Muncie, Indiana to May Forman in Baltimore, Maryland.
