The front cover consist of two items. The first one is the title "Express Jar" which is written in a fancy, black font. The second item is a picture of peas being preserved in an Express Jar. The back cover is a plain white. The inside pages begin with a title page that reads "Preserving of vegetables and fruits, substantials and dainties int he express jar from pure food recipes of Dr. Jean Pacrette, of Paris." The following inside pages describe the Express jar method for each separate foods such as fruits, meats, and jams. The last inside page has a drawn black and white illustration of two boxes that are filled with Express Jars.
