Atop the frame is the year, "1914" and a gold garland that reads, "47th year". The back cover features a calendar for 1914 and a large image of a horse looking over a wooden fence at four chickens and 13 chicks with a water dish. The slats on the fence read, "Watkins Stock & Poultry Remedies". There is a hole in the upper left hand corner. The inside pages feature weather forecasts, astrological predictions, recipes, home uses for Watkins' remedies, advertisements, and miscellaneous information.
