Notice: Due to budget reductions, effective August 15, 2025, the MSU Libraries will no longer ship materials to addresses within a 50-mile radius of the MSU Main Library.  Faculty, staff, and students that live within 50 miles of the Main Library will need to pick up materials requested at the Main Library Circulation Desk, at the lockers in the north vestibule of the Main Library, or at the Gast Business Library.

Stacks Maintenance

Stacks Maintenance is responsible for the daily pick up and shelving of library materials throughout the Main Library. Over 10,000 volumes are shelved in a normal week. These include circulating books returned to the building; books taken from the shelves and used in the building; books used for interlibrary loan; and books returned from the ongoing inventory project. The goal is to shelve every volume that comes to Stacks as promptly as possible.

If you cannot find a book in our online catalog on the shelf, please contact the Circulation Department at 517-355-2333 for assistance.
